Welcome to RemoteLaboratory.com.
We create remote laboratories and other innovative online learning solutions for engineering and science education.
Remote labs give students the ability to perform experiments on actual lab equipment in real-time over the Internet.
This site is under development and is being progressively expanded. In the near future, we plan to have additional informative and interactive content including live demonstration laboratories and simulations.
In the meantime, please enjoy the following remote laboratory demonstration video. This laboratory allows a student to program and operate an industrial robot arm over the Internet.
The user can remotely compile, debug and run their control program and observe the robot arm in real-time via streaming video. Two monitoring cameras provide both a front view and an isometric view [shown here].
This robot has been programmed to demonstrate the ‘Tower of Hanoi’ problem. A tower consisting of three stacked pieces must be moved to another location, but only one piece can be moved at a time, and a large piece must never be placed on top of a smaller piece. The robot is equipped with a suction-cup tool, which it uses to pick up each piece.
