Today, the Federal Minister for Science, Innovation, Industry, Science and Research, Senator Kim Carr, opened the renovated Remote Laboratory area in the Faculty of Engineering at UTS.

In his speech, he stated that "this web-based laboratory is an excellent example of how we can use emerging technologies to bolster our research efforts and potential" and that "accessing laboratory facilities via the internet represents yet another step forward in applying new technologies in our universities."
